2017 Events
Our celebration of 60 years of Mothers' Union in Little Budworth culminated in a special service at St. Peter's on Sunday 15th October 2017. Our Diocesan President, Viv Ley and Deanery Leader, Joan Colwell, members from throughout the deanery and friends from Neston branch joined us for the service which also included our usual congregation. Members were adorned with hats just as they would have been 60 years ago. Our vicar, Revd Chris Humphries, who is also the Diocesan Mothers' Union Chaplain led the service and his talk and prayers gave thanks for the work of Mothers' Union especially in this branch and for past members.
A new member Joan Morris was admitted to the branch, and long service certificates were presented by the Diocesan President to Bron Williams (posthumously, Bron passed away in August) 60 years, Diana Bancroft 44 years, Sue Chappelle 37 years, Ruth Barrow 34 years and Anne Hall 24 years. A special cake was then cut by Joan Morris and Diana Bancroft both daughters of Founder members Bron Williams and Hester Prince. Lunch at the Village Hall, was then enjoyed by members and invited guests when a further cake was cut by Mary Curzon our most senior member and Joan Morris our new member.

Over 50 members from all branches in the Deanery came along and took part in activities and shared with each other what they have been doing in their branches. There was a short time of worship and a soup, roll and cake lunch and everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves. Joan Colwell writes ' I am hoping they will have been inspired to try some different ideas in their branches in the coming months!'

A Strawberry Sparkle evening was held at Susan and Alan Broster's house in Cotebrook on 21 June. It was a perfect warm evening when the thunder rolled but the sun shone and no rain fell.

2016 Events
Middlewich Deanery once again held a Rainbow Sale at the Lighthouse at Weaverham. This was a fundraising event and even though the weather was not kind to us over £1000 was raised which will be used to support Mothers' Union projects nationally and within our local community.
There were twelve stalls each selling items of a different colour which produced a really stunning effect in the hall. We were also pleased to welcome the Mothers' Union literature stall selling badges and other Mothers' Union items which also did a good trade. Weaverham Branch kept everyone supplied with coffee and cake and we were pleased to see so many people supporting the event.
